- Gourock Golf Club followed up their IBM trophy success by winning the Firth of Clyde Trophy at Skelmorlie Golf Club on Sunday the 4th of October. It’s the first time since 2004 Gourock have managed to win the league after being edged out by Cowal Golf Club in the last two years. It’s also the first time since 1988 Gourock have held both the IBM and Firth of Clyde titles at the same time.

03/08/09 - CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS
-We have our winners, it started in dreich conditions on Saturday 25 July for the Senior's and ended on a dreich Saturday one week later but forget the conditions as the roll of honour for this year has now been determined:
- For the first time, the Senior Championship was played over 2 days and our own Greens Convenor Willie Paterson took the title with an excellent combined total of 151.
- Next up was the Junior Championship, which was played on Monday 27 July over the customary 2 rounds. Murray Gillan was triumphant with a combined 155 that included the best round of the day, a three over par of 75!!
- The big day then took centre stage with both the Gents and Ladies prizes presented. As is normal, the ladies is played as a matchplay competition and Maureen Woodhead beat last year's champion Marian Docherty 3 and 2, congratulations Maureen.
- Finally in probably the worst conditions, the gents prizes went down to the wire. A number of creditable scores were posted in the morning taking into account the weather and it proved to be an even tighter finish with 5 players all within one stroke of each other. However 2 players braved the conditions to score 153, Chris Mooney and John Jack. Thus we went to a play-off and is befitting the championship it took 6 holes to split them but eventually we had our Club Champion............JOHN JACK!!

- The Firth of Clyde League game against Largs on Sunday 12 July provided the Gourock men's team with their 4th win out of 5 this season.

- Robert T Rice wins Seniors Open Handicap Competition with Alasdair L Mackay winning the Seniors Open Scratch Prize on 11th June.
- Ladies team win 4-2 away to Greenock in the West Renfrewshire League

- Visit from family of past captain Baird - very complimentary comments passed about the club.
- Steven Higgins, Gordon Boswell and Paul Nicol win Cameron Cup.
- Gourock Gent's team beaten by Rothesay in FoC league.
- FoC wee trophy cancelled due to swine flu.
- Junior team beats Gleddoch.
- Hole in one for Fraser Kelly on 23rd May at 7th hole.
- Welcome to new caterer Mark Vigni and his team.
- Juniors Andrew Williamson and Jack Broadley win family fun night. 28 people took part.
- Senior Open due at club on 11th June.
- John Greer wins Gillen scratch prize with gross 70; E Williamson from Clydebank wins Gillen handicap trophy with score of 76-9 = 67.
- Reminder: Burgh Trophy on 18th July - deadline for entry is 5th July
